Reverse description Crowned composite heraldic shield bearing the coat of arms of the Landgraviate of Upper Alsace as the central escutcheon, encircled by the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Two subsidiary shields flank the central composition, with the Habsburg arms at left and the County of Ferrette arms at right, each dividing the surrounding Latin legend. The overall design reflects the elaborate heraldic tradition of the Habsburg dynastic coinage of the late sixteenth century.
