| Reverse description | Elaborately quartered and subdivided imperial coat of arms of the Habsburg dynasty, surmounted by a large imperial crown with ornamental flourishes above. The shield displays the multiple quarterings representing the various dominions of Ferdinand II, including Austria, Burgundy, Castile, Leon, Bohemia, Hungary, and Styria, among others. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the outer legend ARCHI AVST DVX BVR STYRIÆ ETC running along the periphery between beaded borders. The overall design reflects the grandiose heraldic style associated with double-thaler coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
