Obverse description Central field dominated by a large, ornately decorated quartered coat of arms of the County of Hohnstein, displaying a chequered pattern with subsidiary escutcheons featuring a lion and horizontal bars. The shield is surmounted by two elaborate crested helms with mantling, the dexter helm bearing a stag's antlers and the sinister a crown. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO NO AR ERNESTI CO DE HONSTEIN, separated by the shield's edges, within a beaded inner border.
