Obverse description Draped bust of Ernest of Bavaria facing right, depicted with a beard and laureate wreath of foliage, wearing armour with a richly detailed collar. The effigy is set within an inner beaded circle, surrounded by a continuous circular legend in Latin. The outer border is decorated with a rope or cable pattern typical of early seventeenth-century German taler coinage.
