Obverse description Elaborate helmeted coat of arms of Holstein-Schaumburg-Pinneberg, featuring multiple quartered shields surmounted by a large ornate helm with a distinctive feathered plume crest, flanked by supporters and decorative mantling in high relief. The legend ERNESTI COM and HOL SCHAWENB. is inscribed around the periphery in Latin characters. The entire composition is rendered in the elaborate late-Renaissance style typical of north German coinage of the early seventeenth century.
