Reverse description A detailed panoramic city view of Münster occupies the lower two-thirds of the field, depicting the skyline with numerous church spires and towers rendered in fine engraving. Above the cityscape, in the heavens amid clouds, appears a half-length figure of Saint Paul the Apostle holding a sword, identified by the legend S. PAVL PATRON surrounding him. A three-line inscription in the exergue area reads MONAST WESTPH / AD OBED REDVC / TVM, commemorating the return of Westphalian Münster to obedience. The circular peripheral legend names the bishop-prince Christoph Bernhard and the year MDCLXI, all within a milled border.
