Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria in right-facing profile, with finely rendered curly hair and a short mustache, depicted in a neoclassical style. The truncation of the neck is clean and unadorned. The engraver's signature C. VOIGT appears in small letters at the base of the bust near the bottom of the field. The circular legend reads LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN, running along the upper periphery between a plain inner field and an outer beaded border.
