| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria in right-facing profile, with finely detailed curling hair and a short beard, the truncation of the neck left plain. The encircling legend LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN runs along the upper periphery, while the engraver's signature C. VOIGT appears below the bust at the base.
