Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of Duke Leopold Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and strong portraiture typical of mid-19th-century German coinage. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait along the rim, identifying the ruler by name and title. The mint mark 'A' for the Berlin Mint appears at the base of the portrait, below the truncation.
