Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Friedrich Wilhelm IV, King of Prussia, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and short beard. The truncation of the neck is plain and unadorned. The circumferential legend reads FRIEDR. WILHELM IV KOENIG V. PREUSSEN, separated from the effigy by an inner beaded border. The mint mark 'A' for the Berlin Mint appears at the bottom of the field below the bust.

Reverse description The elaborately detailed quartered coat of arms of the Kingdom of Prussia, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by draped mantling tied with tasselled cords on either side. The large heraldic shield displays multiple quarters incorporating the Prussian eagle, Hohenzollern arms, and other dynastic bearings in fine relief. The circumferential legend is divided into two parts: 2 THALER VII EINE F. MARK 3½ GULDEN to the sides and VEREINS MÜNZE with the date below, all separated by small ornamental stars, within a beaded border.
