Reverse description The elaborately detailed quartered royal arms of Prussia displayed on a large heraldic shield, surmounted by a crown supported by ermine-lined royal mantle draped symmetrically to either side. The multi-quartered shield incorporates the various dynastic territories of the Hohenzollern crown, including the Prussian eagle, sceptre, and multiple subordinate coats of arms. The circular legend surrounding the design states the denomination and Vereinsmünze designation, with the date 1840 at the base separated by a six-pointed star ornament. Two ornamental rosette stops flank the legend at the sides. The entire design is contained within a toothed border.
