Reverse description A large crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed in high relief occupies the central field, wings spread, each head surmounted by a crown beneath a single overarching imperial crown. An orb bearing a cross is positioned on the eagle's breast as the imperial escutcheon. The surrounding Latin legend cites the full titles of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III. The bold, deeply struck execution is characteristic of large German silver multiples struck during the mid-seventeenth century.
