| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of Hamburg — a white castle with three towers on a red field — set within an elaborate Baroque cartouche of scrolling acanthus foliage and strapwork. Above the shield rises an ornate crested helmet surmounted by a fan of peacock feathers and additional heraldic ornaments. The circumferential legend reads DA. PACEM DOMINE IN DIEBUS NOSTRIS, rendered in Latin capitals and distributed around the full perimeter of the coin. |
