Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Philip Julius of Pomerania-Wolgast facing right, wearing an elaborate ruff collar and fur-trimmed mantle adorned with decorative floral ornaments, rendered in high relief in the early Baroque style. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field, with fine detailing visible in the hair, beard, and costume. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, separated from the field by a raised inner border. The coin's outer edge is framed by a dentillated rim. The overall composition reflects the dignified portraiture conventions characteristic of early seventeenth-century German princely coinage.

Reverse description The entire reverse field is occupied by eleven lines of Latin commemorative text, recording the birth and death of Duke Philip Julius of Pomerania, struck in his memory by his cousin and successor Bogislaw XIV. The inscription is set within a dentillated outer rim, with a small decorative floral ornament at the top and a scrollwork device at the bottom of the field. The lettering is rendered in a bold, upright Roman script typical of early seventeenth-century German medallic work. The text records the duke's birth on 27 December 1584 and his death on 6 February 1625, and attributes the issue of this commemorative piece to Bogislaw XIV, Duke of Stettin-Pomerania.
