Reverse description The reverse presents a high-relief depiction of Christ Pantocrator rendered in the style of a Byzantine icon. The frontal bust of Christ dominates the field, his right hand raised in a gesture of benediction and his left hand holding an open codex inscribed with the Alpha and Omega symbols. A cruciform nimbus surrounds the head, with the Greek abbreviations 'IC XC' (Jesus Christ) flanking the figure and 'O ON' within the nimbus arms. The surrounding border is inscribed with a repeating Greek liturgical legend 'ΑΓΙΟΣ ΑΓΙΟΣ ΑΓΙΟΣ' (Holy, Holy, Holy), rendered in Byzantine uncial script.

Additional information

Issued under Samoa's ongoing "Art of the World" program, which has used the country's minting agreements to produce collector-focused silver rounds since the early 2010s. Samoa holds no domestic mint; production is contracted to foreign facilities, most commonly the Bavarian State Mint in Munich or the Perth Mint, depending on the series.
