Obverse description Central device depicts the Ecuadorian national coat of arms, featuring an oval shield surmounted by a condor with wings displayed, flanked on either side by national flags and palm and laurel branches. The shield itself bears a miniature landscape with Mount Chimborazo and a steamship on the river, with the sun above. The surrounding legend reads 'DOS SUCRES' at the top and 'GRAM.10 LEY 0.720 PHILA.U.S.A' along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border.
