Reverse description The crowned rampant lion of Gelderland facing left occupies the central field, depicted in high relief holding an upright sword in its right paw and a bundle of seven arrows in its left, symbolizing the seven United Provinces. The denomination is divided on either side of the lion, with '2' to the left and 'S' to the right. The square klippe format frames the design with plain cut edges, and the entire composition is characteristic of the hammered coinage produced at the Harderwijk mint during the early seventeenth century.
