| Obverse description | Denomination expressed in large, boldly incuse Latin numerals and letters occupying the central field of the irregularly shaped rectangular copper planchet. The figure '2' appears to the left and the abbreviation 'S' (for Stuivers) to the right, rendered in a crude, hand-struck script characteristic of hammered coinage. Decorative floral or foliate elements are visible to the left of the numeral, consistent with the informal engraving style of Netherlands East Indies emergency or subsidiary coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
