Obverse description Central field displays a four-line Latin inscription reading WEST / FRI / SIÆ / 1702, denoting the issuing province of West Friesland with the date at the base. Three floral or rosette privy marks are positioned in a row above the inscription. The coin exhibits a milled or reeded outer border running along the entire circumference. The lettering is rendered in bold relief capital characters, filling the field in a plain, unadorned typographic style characteristic of Dutch provincial issues of the early eighteenth century.
