Obverse description The obverse bears a fully inscribed legend in Roman capital letters arranged across the field in five horizontal lines, reading WEST · FRISIA / II · STUIVERS / BANKGELT / 1675, denoting West Friesland, 2 Stuivers Bank Money, and the date of issue. A decorative rosette or cinquefoil ornament appears at the top of the field above the lettering, flanked by two dots. The inscription fills virtually the entire coin face, characteristic of small hammered bank money issues of the Dutch Republic period. The irregular flan and variable strike quality are consistent with the handmade production method typical of 17th-century hammered Dutch provincial coinage.
