Reverse description A crowned rampant lion passant to the left occupies the central field, wielding an upraised sword in its right forepaw and holding a bundle of arrows in its left, emblematic of the Dutch Republic. The denomination numeral '2' appears to the left of the lion in the field, with the denomination abbreviation 'S' to the right, together reading '2 S' for 2 Stuivers. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat rustic style characteristic of late 17th- to early 18th-century Dutch municipal coinage. The coin's irregular flan and milled edge are typical of the period's striking technique.
