| Reverse description | The reverse features a crowned heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of the Seven United Provinces of the Dutch Republic, surmounted by a prominent imperial-style crown with arched bands. The denomination '2 S' (2 Stuivers) flanks the shield on either side, divided by the lower portion of the escutcheon. The overall composition is typical of the small silver provincial coinage of the Dutch Republic during the late seventeenth century, with a heavily worn and porous surface consistent with hammered manufacture and prolonged circulation. |
