Reverse description A rampant lion facing left occupies the central field, its body rendered in a bold, vigorous style typical of Dutch municipal coinage of the late 17th century. The denomination numerals '2' and 'S' appear in the field to either side of the lion, flanking it left and right respectively to indicate the value of 2 Stuivers. The reverse displays a milled or grained border consistent with the obverse. The overall design is characteristic of hammered municipal silver coinage of the Dutch Republic period.
