Obverse description Two rampant lions sejant addorsed, each facing inward toward the central axis, with a firesteel (vuurijzer) — the badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece — prominently placed above and between them in the upper field. A sunburst device occupies the exergue below. The composition is symmetrical and heraldic in character, rendered in the bold, angular style typical of Burgundian hammered coinage of the late fifteenth century. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular Latin legend running in the outer margin.
