Obverse description The provincial name ZEELANDIA is inscribed across the field in three horizontal lines, with the Middelburg mintmark positioned above flanked by a star on each side. The date 1718 appears below the inscription. The design is framed within a plain inner border, with the entire composition rendered in a simple, typographic style characteristic of Dutch provincial coinage of the early eighteenth century.
