Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Simón Bolívar facing left, adorned with a wreath tied with a ribbon at the back of the head, occupying the central field. The truncation bears the name BOLIVAR incuse within a rectangular cartouche at the base of the bust. The surrounding legend reads LIBRE POR LA CONSTITUCION, disposed along the inner edge of a finely reeded border, with the legend interrupted by the bust itself at left and right.

Reverse description Central device depicts a broad-leafed tree rising from a grassy mound, flanked on either side by a llama couchant, symbolizing the natural wealth of Bolivia. An arc of ten six-pointed stars radiates above the central device in a semicircle. The peripheral legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA is disposed along the upper arc, with mint mark PTS at lower left, denomination 2S at lower left adjacent, date 1830 at the base, and assayer initials J·L· at lower right, all separated by small dots. The entire design is enclosed within a reeded border.
