Obverse description Central field features the crowned Danish royal arms shield displaying three passant lions arranged vertically, each accompanied by nine hearts, representing the traditional arms of Denmark. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown with beaded base. A beaded inner circle borders the shield, with the circular Latin legend surrounding it in the outer field. The inscription reads FRIDERIC·III·D·G·DAN, identifying King Frederick III as ruler of Denmark by divine right. The overall design is rendered in a robust, late baroque die-engraving style typical of mid-17th century Danish coinage.
