| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Royal Danish shield of arms, displaying three passant lions above a stylized monogram, the whole surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is encircled by a beaded inner border. The peripheral legend reads FRIDERIC·3·D·G·DAN, identifying the issuer as Frederick III, King of Denmark, by the Grace of God, in Latin script with pellet stops. The design is rendered in low relief typical of mid-17th century Danish milled billon coinage. |
