| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the crowned royal arms of Denmark in a quartered shield, displaying the three crowned lions passant with hearts of the Danish quarters alongside the lion rampant of Norway, all rendered in the bold, somewhat crude style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Danish hammered coinage. The shield is surmounted by a large ornate crown. The royal legend, broken across the field and referencing Christian IV by the Grace of God and King of Denmark, is distributed around the shield in Latin capitals, partially framing the design. |
