| Reverse description | Rectangular hammered gold flan with a continuous raised dot border encircling the entire field. The reverse bears two large cursive grass-script Chinese characters executed in bold, flowing strokes that dominate the field. The upper character and a large rounded lower character together form the name and personal signature seal of the mint official Mitsutsugu, rendered in the informal grass script style (sōsho) conventional for Tokugawa-period gold coinage authentication marks. |
