| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a kneeling female figure with arms outstretched, rendered in a classicising allegorical style and symbolising peace and humanity. She supports two diagonal staffs that form a stylised triangular or star-shaped geometric frame, above which a dove in flight is shown with wings spread. The denomination 2 SCUDI appears within the upper portion of the geometric motif, while the dates 1945 and 1995 flank the composition vertically on either side, commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The legend ONU is inscribed at the base of the field, with the engravers' signatures FRAPICCINI INC. and L. PANCOTTO visible in the lower exergue. |
