| Obverse description | Central field bears the crowned arms of Württemberg — a quartered shield displaying three stag antlers — surmounted by an ornate crown, all within a beaded inner circle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the armorial design, reading IOHANN : FRID : D : G : DVX . WIRT, identifying Duke John Frederick of Württemberg by name and title. The lettering is rendered in Gothic-influenced characters typical of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage.
