Obverse description The Ashoka Lion Capital emblem occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with the national motto 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs) inscribed in Devanagari script beneath it. The denomination '2 RUPEES' appears in the lower exergue, with the bilingual country name 'भारत INDIA' arching above the emblem. Two varieties exist: Type B features an Asoka Column 14 mm tall with three fur rows on the right lion and five lion whiskers, while Type C features an Asoka Column 13 mm tall with four fur rows on the right lion.
