Reverse description The reverse bears a facing portrait bust of Sri Aurobindo Ghose, the renowned Indian philosopher, yogi, and spiritual leader, centrally positioned within the field. His name appears in both Devanagari script (श्री अरविन्द) and Latin script (SRI AUROBINDO), arcing around the upper portion of the design. The year of issue, 1998, is inscribed in the lower field, flanked by his celebrated aphorism in both Devanagari (सम्पूर्ण जीवन योग है) and English (ALL LIFE IS YOGA). Mintmark placement below the date distinguishes the issuing facility: a small diamond or dot (♦) for Mumbai circulation issues, the letter M for Mumbai Proof issues, a circular dot (°) for Noida, and the absence of a mintmark for Calcutta.
