| Obverse description | This die is borrowed from the 10 Rupees obverse, making this a mule. The Ashoka Lion Capitol — the national emblem of India — is depicted centrally in the field, flanked by two raised horizontal lines that divide the design into three registers. The upper register bears the bilingual legend 'भारत' (in Devanagari) to the left and 'INDIA' (in Latin script) to the right along the upper periphery. Below the emblem, within the middle register, the national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Prevails') is inscribed in Devanagari script. The date '2008' appears in the lower exergual register, with the Noida mint mark (a small dot) below it. |
