| Obverse description | The Ashoka Lion Capital, India's national emblem, is depicted in the centre of the field, flanked by two raised horizontal lines forming a band across the coin. Above the upper line, the bilingual legend reads 'भारत' in Devanagari script to the left and 'INDIA' in Latin script to the right.
