| Obverse description | The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, occupies the central field, depicted with three lions visible above an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra (wheel) in relief. The Devanagari legend 'भारत' curves along the left field and the Latin legend 'INDIA' along the right field, both reading vertically.
