Obverse description The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally in the field, showing three lions passant upon an abacus adorned with a central Dharma Chakra (wheel). The motto of India, 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs), is inscribed in Devanagari script beneath the emblem.
