Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large intaglio vignette of Sigiriya Rock, the ancient rock fortress, rendered in rich red tones against a landscape of tropical vegetation, with a circular watermark space at left. The heading GOVERNMENT OF CEYLON runs along the top in a green panel, and the caption SIGIRIYA ROCK appears beneath the central vignette. Denomination numerals 2 appear in green guilloche cartouches at each corner, with Sinhalese and Tamil inscriptions along the lower margin.
