Obverse description Central field occupied by a bold Arabic calligraphic inscription reading 'al-Sultan Nadir' (السلطان نادر), executed in a flowing Naskh script. The legend is contained within a dotted inner circle, itself surrounded by a plain linear border. A small six-pointed star ornament appears in the lower left of the inner field. The broad, irregular flan exhibits characteristic hammered fabric with visible surface striations typical of Afsharid coinage struck at provincial mints.
