| Obverse description | At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin occupies the field, flanked to the lower right by the mint mark (СПМД) and to the lower left by the fineness designation «Ag 925». A beaded border frames the central device, with the denomination legend «ДВА РУБЛЯ» arcing along the upper rim and the issuing authority inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» arranged in a semicircle beneath the eagle. The date «1998» appears in the lower exergual area, and the fine metal content «15,55» is indicated to the right of the eagle. |
