| Obverse description | At centre, the State Emblem of the Bank of Russia — the double-headed eagle after the design of Ivan Bilibin — occupies the field within a beaded inner circle. A semicircular legend below the eagle reads «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). Along the upper rim the denomination legend «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) is inscribed, while the date «1998» appears along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation and fineness mark are indicated; to the right, the fine metal content and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) are struck. |
