| Reverse description | The reverse bears a bust-length portrait of Nadezhda Andreyevna Durova, the celebrated Russian cavalry officer and heroine of the Patriotic War of 1812, depicted in three-quarter view facing left, dressed in a military hussar uniform with characteristic braided frogging on the chest. The portrait is rendered in a finely detailed relief style. A curved ribbon banner in the lower portion of the field carries the Cyrillic inscription 'Н.А. ДУРОВА', identifying the subject. The overall composition is part of the Bank of Russia's commemorative series dedicated to heroes of the War of 1812. |
