Obverse description At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin, displayed within a beaded circle. The curved legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) appears below the eagle in a semicircular arrangement. Along the outer rim, the denomination «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) arcs above and the date «1999» below. To the left of the eagle, the metal designation and fineness mark (Ag 925) are inscribed in the field; to the right, the fine metal content and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) are similarly placed.
