Obverse description At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin occupies the field, with wings displayed and a crown above each head. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central device, within which the semicircular legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (Bank of Russia) appears below the eagle. The peripheral legend along the upper rim reads «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (Two Roubles) and the date «1999» is inscribed along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation «Ag 925» is indicated, while to the right the fine metal content «15,55» and the Moscow Mint monogram «ММД» appear.
