Reverse description A veiled figure of Christ stands frontally, his right arm raised in benediction and his left hand holding an imperial orb. Below the figure, a quartered royal shield displays the Three Crowns of Sweden in the first and fourth quarters and the Folkung Lion in the second and third, with the arms of the House of Vasa superimposed at the center. The upper portion of the shield flanks the split date on either side. The figure of Christ and the upper shield partially extend beyond an inner circle, with the Latin legend arranged in the outer field. The overall design conveys both royal and divine authority in the tradition of Reformation-era Scandinavian gold coinage.
