Obverse description Central device depicts the Imperial Iranian coat of arms: a rampant lion passant holding a sword, set before a radiant sun, all within a beaded inner circle. The lion and sun motif is flanked by a wreath composed of laurel on the left and oak on the right, tied at the base. A Pahlavi imperial crown surmounts the composition at the top. The denomination in Arabic script appears on a band at the base of the wreath, with a small numeral below. The entire design is enclosed within a plain outer rim.
