Obverse description Arabic inscription in four lines within an open wreath of palm fronds tied at the base with a ribbon bow, naming the Ottoman Sultan Al-Ghazi Abdulmecid Khan. The legends are rendered in a thin, elegant Arabic script characteristic of Ottoman Tunisian coinage of the mid-19th century. The wreath branches extend upward from the lower field, framing the inscription symmetrically. The coin's milled border is visible around the outer rim.
