| Obverse description | Central device depicts the arms of Honduras featuring a radiating sun rising over two volcanic peaks, rendered within a shield-shaped cartouche occupying the majority of the field. The design is executed in a bold, somewhat crude provincial style characteristic of early Central American republican coinage. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading MON • PROVISIONAL DEL EST • DE HOND :, separated from the inner field by a plain border. The coin's rim is defined by a beaded border. |
