Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold cross pattée dividing the coin into four quadrants, each containing a crowned heraldic head in profile within a quatrefoil or lobed inner border. The cross arms extend to the edge of the inner design area, with the entire motif enclosed within a circular legend. The peripheral legend is rendered in Latin capitals separated by pellets, reading the regnal title and date. The design is characteristic of the roller-milled coinage of the Zaragoza mint, with a somewhat irregular strike typical of the period.
